To even to the layperson with no background in astrology, the term “Scorpio” is synonymous with sex.
What is it about sex that Scorpio natives like so much?
Is it the emotional fabric of the mingling?
The passion and abandon from a persona otherwise introverted?
Is it merely appetite and stamina? Is it the opportunity to fulfill their predilections for extremes with the dark arts of sex: S & M, danger, and provocation?
Or is the sexuality of Scorpio merely mythology?
The 7th Sense: Scorpio and Sex
Most people erroneously think Scorpios simply like to have lots of sex… that they can’t get enough. The reality is — yeah all that — but mostly that sex is sort of a 7th sense to Scorpio, used for receiving and transmitting feedback to other life and spirits.
It is a holistic sense they use to respond to the world around them. Many things can make a Scorpio native feel highly erotic. Sometimes a stimulating conversation can make a Scorpio want to tear someone’s clothes off.
Conversation can spark an energy and connection as ferocious as foreplay!
To the Scorpio man and Scorpio woman, sex is a language – a tool of communication.
Scorpios believe that everything inside two people — their thoughts values and ideas– come out during sex — so does all the unspoken values of the relationship.
What the Scorpio Experiences During Sex
During the act of coitus, Scorpios can be keenly aware of everything …every touch, every breath, every hesitation, every aggression, every smell, every taste, every laugh, every scream, every drop of perspiration… all of this telegraphs things about the bond that can’t be verbalized.
In making love, Scorpios try to collect all these metaphysical, psychological, sensual, emotional things from the lover and force them back into the lover, creating a constant back-and-forth exchange of energy that is electric!
This circulation of energy carries all the couple’s emotion, thoughts, hopes, dreams, strengths and weaknesses as souls and bodies are laid bare, creating a raw communion that pushes the Scorpio to the brink of otherworldly bonding.
This type of sexuality is surreal and exhausting … and deep…and scary.
But that’s how Scorpios grow to feel about sex.
They have to evolve.
Evolving Scorpio: Learning to Handle the Lust Drive!
For young Scorpios, dealing with their overwhelming sense of sexuality can be very difficult and confusing.
Many don’t understand their intense erotic energy.
They might feel compelled to read about sex A LOT — like at 9 and 10 years olds (or earlier) and partake in other forms of exploration — perhaps before their peers.
They should not, however, feel ashamed or dirty. No taboo can really seem taboo to Scorpio, who specializes in analyzing the hidden aspects of life from which others shrink. Scorpios will find all the salacious corners of intimate life very interesting.
As young adults, Scorpios might even feel obsessed with thoughts of growing up and going into the sex industry.
It would interesting, in fact, to see how many people in the sex industry are Scorps who could not get a handle on their robust sexual energy.
One female Scorpio confided to me that in college after reading a Cosmopolitan mag article, she really wanted to be a call girl– it seemed so glamourous — meeting corporate men, having intelligent conversation and then having sex. It was high-class capitalisitc sexuality. To this day, she still has some admiration for that field.
Sex/intimate occupations are secretive; this appeals to the Scorpio’s need for mystery. They LOVE secret sexual trysts and mystique. As Scorpio men and Scorpio women age and explore, many Scorpios might feel they are awakening some really dangerous lusts; they might want to do things they can never confess aloud.
It would behoove Scorpio, therefore, to fall in love in order to have a place to discretely and monogamously channel sexual energy. Otherwise, chances are they can become so lost in their sexuality that they do some incredibly dangerous, stupid, and self-destructive things. That is, until they evolve.
Protecting the Uniqueness of Scorpio Sexuality
Once Scorpios evolve, Scorpios begin to understand the uniqueness of the Scorpio sexuality — that it’s as emotional, intellectual, spiritual and mystical as it is physical. That usually makes them more protective of their sexuality and they begin to elevate it to another realm. (It’s also not unheard of for Scorpios to elevate their sex drives to a pious realm where they become celibate).
Evolved Scorpios will realize they have unwittingly bought into the American or western view of sexuality as a primarily physical sensation that is about thrill and orgasm. Scorpio sexuality is more like Eastern views of sex: an exchange of energy and spirit, a purification. Sorta like the Karma Sutra.
