Venus is your love planet. People are drawn to relationships based on their Venus and their Moon. The moon is what holds the key to what we subconsciously need to feel secure in a relationship. The moon must be satisfied for long-term relationship bliss. However, the first spark of lust or kinship is based on the Venus. The astrological sign or house that the Venus is in can reveal what traits you love about someone and what piques an instant attraction. Venus’ interplay with other planets are also revelatory.

Since planets, houses, and signs come with so much complex energy, not everyone with Venus in the same situation will have the same passions and loves.

Example. I have Venus in Sagittarius. I am attracted to the the Sagittarius trait of wisdom and high ideals. My Venus is also conjunct Mercury, which is the planet of the mind and of intelligence. I like smart guys. Period.

I don’t look at a guy and fall in love. I hear him and become lustful.

I always say I can be in a room full of people and hear someone spout some insanely intellectual ideas and I’m in love and have to meet that guy! And the more he talks and the more brilliant he is, the more excited and, frankly, horny, I become. Venus conjunct Mercury and Jupiter in Sagittarius. Yes, brains are my aphrodisiac. I have literally broken up on the spot with someone who said something dumb. I don’t really care if a guy is drop dead gorgeous (in fact, looks are only a combination of set points on a face; so subjective. I don’t get the obsession). So what, he’s handsome … what are we going to TALK ABOUT? That’s my concern.

I have a friend with Venus in Cancer. Cancer is the sign of the mother (which is related to breasts). This guy (yes, guys can be so superficial) is attracted to large breasts. He must have them. He will marry you if you have great breasts.

But, you know, his Venus is trine Jupiter (which is associated with travel and the 9th house). His Venus is also sextile Pluto in the 9th house, which reinforces his attraction to world travelers. He has told me he falls in love when he travels with someone (9th house equals travel and world exploration).

Now, this guy’s Venus is in the 8th house, the house of sex, but he doesn’t fall in love through sex. Interesting. He has a Mars in Aquarius which keeps his sexual life very detached. So, that just goes to show you that people can have a combination of energy to influence their Venus, but only respond, perhaps, to one heightened aphrodisiac. For him, it’s travel. For me, it’s the higher mind. Ironically my Sag Venus is made to love travels, but my moon is in Cancer and I’m a homebody so that sort of cancels out the travel love bug in my case.

My Moon is in Cancer, which needs security and a safe home. I am only interested in having long-term relationships with a guy who is super protective (even paternal), stable and reliable.
